Tom Buchanan Fires course record for Ajman PGA Open

23rd Feb 16 at 03:16pm

Tom Buchanan fired a course record 69 at Al Zorah GC to take the inaugral Ajman PGA Open by three strokes.

With perfect scoring conditions, and the course playing firm and fast, the pins were tucked away but playing very fairly. Tom had bogies at the 2nd, 9th on the front nine but offset this with birdies at the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th. on the back nine birdies came on the 12th and 17th before dropping a stroke on the tough par 3 final hole.

Tied 2nd Place were Michael Major and Luke Plumb wuth level par 72. Tied 4th was Jaco Stander and Matthew Naylor on 73. The final prizes on 74 for Tied 6th were Martin Dwehurst and Deepak Neupane.

With most of the leading players coming up to the 10 Tournament mark on the Order of Merit it will be interesting to see what happens over the next 2 months with the title tight at the top. the 10 best scores count towards this.

Also the top 16 plyers qualify for the end of Season Dubai Golf Trophy, theres still plenty of time to make a late charge for the team.

The next event is the PGA Patrons ProAm at The Montgomerie on Monday 7th March.
